Class Eligibility
We divide our Adult Jiu-Jitsu Co-ed Program in Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced classes. The age required to join the Adult Program is 15 years of age and above. We specialize in teaching beginners with little to no previous athletic experience. Classes are taught in a group setting that may range from 15 to 30 students per class.
With the recommended minimum of two classes per week, 100% of our students achieve excellent fitness levels and a tremendous boost in confidence in just a few months of training. And, this is just a couple of the benefits you'll get from continuous training.
How Do Our Jiu-Jitsu Classes Work?
All classes are 60 minutes long and are divided into four stages:
Warm Up - Functional exercises designed to strengthen the joints, muscles (especially abs, quads and lower back), increase flexibility, improve coordination, and overall conditioning.
Drills - Immediately after warm up, the instructor demonstrates a series of drills related to the topics being covered that specific month. Intense drilling is essential to develop skills to the fullest. Students pair up with teammates of similar size and rank and drill over a period of 2, 3, 4 or 5 minutes depending on the technique. This stage of training helps students develop muscle memory, develop reflex and continue improving their conditioning.
Specific Sparring - After drilling, students drill with more resistance. Specific goals are set by the instructor and if/when those goals are accomplished students must reset and try it again until time is up. Increased muscle memory and reflex development occur here.
Full Sparring (optional) - This is undoubtedly the most exciting and fun aspect of training. It is as real as it gets! Students try to apply their techniques on fully resisting teammates who are defending and counteracting with their own moves. It's an incredible workout! This type of training teaches the students to feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable positions during a fight. It helps them develop the ability to remain calm and think logically under pressure.
Live training improves conditioning, reflexes, and confidence to levels that one may have previously never experienced. However, this type of training is only gradually introduced after the initial 12-Week Beginner's Program.
