39-year-old Chelsea Burgo’s Jiu-Jitsu journey began when she was 6 years old at her Dad’s Brad Burgo Dojo, Bay Isle Judo & Jiu-Jitsu Club, where she trained until she was 13.
Fast forward to her 20s in 2010, and working as a front desk receptionist at the UFC gym in Concord, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program was launched. She found a friend to join the program with, and she never looked back.
In 2017, Chelsea started her own Jiu-Jitsu program in Alameda, where she lives and has since submerged herself in learning the intricacies of running her own martial arts academy, @gracie_jiujitsu_alameda, and morally preparing students of all ages to serve society.
Chelsea was a fierce competitor during the first half of her journey and has acquired extensive experience in that aspect of Jiu-Jitsu. Among her main achievements in competition are:
