Congratulations, Aria Qu! June 2023's Student of the Month!

10-year-old Aria started her Jiu-Jitsu journey at last year's Summer Camp with encouragement and guidance from her parents, who are both Jiu-Jitsu blue belts.

The combat sports world was completely new and foreign to the then-timid and soft-spoken Aria. She was very nervous, but faced her fears, was optimistic, and was willing to give the camp her best (with one condition, she didn't want ANYTHING to do with live training)!

Throughout the camp, we noticed Aria's confidence building, and she started believing in her technique. Her coordination, athletic ability, and conditioning improved after every session.

After completing the 30 hours of Summer Camp and earning her first stripe, Aria joined our year around Jiu-Jitsu program. She was more confident and comfortable on the mat since completing the Summer Camp as long as she didn't have to spar!

Three months later, it all changed! The much more confident Aria decided to challenge herself and test her skills by jumping in for sparring!

Aria is exceptionally polite, a talented artist, friendly, kind, and always pleasant toward others. We are excited to see the leadership she will bring to the 8-11-year-old class. She does a great job of including others and making everyone feel welcome.

Last weekend, Aria earned her well-deserved Yellow Belt at our Summer Belt Ceremony. She participates in live training sessions with students of all ranks in every class now. She conquered her fear and will continue to evolve with the empowering mindset she now possesses!
