Congratulations, Kivian Gracie! September 2024 Student of the Month!

Kivian, 14, has been a part of our Academy literally since birth. From being held as a baby behind the front desk to bouncing on the boxing ring ropes as a two-year-old with her signature pigtails, she has grown up immersed in the Academy.

Whether rallying fellow toddlers for playful adventures on the Muay Thai mats or practicing her first Osotogaris at just three years old in the 4-6-year-olds program, Kivian's journey in martial arts has been a remarkable one.

As she progressed through the 6-8-year-olds class, the Kids Black Belt Club, the 12-14-year-olds, and now the Adult Program, Kivian has embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.

Over the years, she has participated in nearly every extracurricular activity the Academy has to offer. This includes competing in internal tournaments, attending six youth summer camps (where she eagerly joins full-contact MMA sparring sessions), and participating in guest seminars, including those led by her cousins, Royler and Royce Gracie.

In the past three years, Kivian has accompanied her Dad, traveling out of state to attend her cousin Royce Gracie’s Annual Association Gatherings, training and learning from top combat sports professionals from the industry.

Her dedication to training is evident, and she often attends multiple classes a day. A true acai bowl enthusiast, she can frequently be spotted enjoying one behind the front desk or even preparing her own at home.

Throughout her journey, Kivian has shown remarkable perseverance and tenacity. While most of her childhood teammates have quit the training, she has STAYED THE COURSE. Despite the pressure of being both a Gracie and having her father as her coach, Kivian remains composed and focused, never allowing one tough day to impact the next.

Whether performing in self-defense demonstrations or achieving an impressive 11-1 record in her first wrestling season in 8th grade, Jiu-Jitsu has instilled in her the strength to face every challenge head-on!

Kivian’s confidence, kindness, and fun-loving sense of humor shine on and off the mat. Her strong will and positive attitude inspire us all! We are very proud of your hard work and dedication, Kivian. Keep up the great work!
