Being bullied can severely affect a child's or teen's self-image, social interactions, or school performance and can lead to mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, substance use, and even suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
Signs of a child being bullied may be physical, emotional, behavioral, social, or academic. Short and long-term effects of bullying may also include:
- Stress
- Poor self-esteem
- Changes in sleep and eating patterns
- Poor relational skills
- Anger or frustration, and more
At Crosley Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, we train our students to carry themselves honorably and confidently. We teach them the necessary tools to resolve a confrontation with verbal assertiveness. Still, if the confrontation becomes physical, they are able to control the situation and defend themselves without hurting the bully.
Our Youth Jiu-Jitsu Programs not only provide our students with an efficient plan of action if they are bullied but also give any insecure person susceptible to being the bully the respect, confidence, and humility they lack.
