Crosley Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy’s Black Belt, Tim Toon, recently taught a special seminar in Sinop, Mato Grosso, Brazil, while on vacation with his family, visiting his wife’s hometown.
This meaningful event supported Projeto ABBA, a no-cost Jiu-Jitsu program run by @ibnfamiliasinop , which provides training for children who cannot afford it and offers essential skills like computer basics to prepare them for a brighter future.
In a testament to his dedication, Tim taught the seminar entirely in Portuguese, a language he has recently learned. Sponsored by generous church members, the seminar was complimentary for a group of teenage competitors and also included participants from three other academies, along with their professors and students.
Over R$2000,00 reais were raised during the two-hour class. It was a memorable experience that highlighted how Jiu-Jitsu transcends borders, bringing people together and positively impacting communities.
