Adult Female Jiu-Jitsu Students Earn Her First Stripe

Congrats, Marianne, on completing the Beginners’ Program and earning her first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu stripe in class today!

Referred to the program by our long-time student and Assistant Instructor Sariah Hoffman, in just a brief span of a few months, it’s safe to say that soon-to-be 26-year-old Marianne Spekner already loves Jiu-Jitsu.

Since enrolling (after nearly a year of deliberating), she took on the challenge to learn the art with captivating positivity, dedication, and joy, often seen smiling and giggling throughout the practice.

She has purchased mats and a dummy to practice at home and religiously journals each class she attends. She can be spotted sitting by the ring, sometimes up to 40 minutes after the end of the class, documenting the material she just learned. As a graphic design student, she even draws the positions!

Admirable dedication!

Well done, Marianne! Keep up the phenomenal work, and may your journey in Jiu-Jitsu be filled with triumph and fulfillment!
