CROSLEY GRACIE ACADEMY SEMINARS

Street Self Defense

In these seminars we'll go over escapes from several ways of attack and grips. Defense against strikes, head locks and bear hug escapes, defense against weapons such as knives, clubs or even hand guns. You will learn about developing a stronger base of support to weaken the attack. We'll talk about the importance of being aware of your surroundings at all times, maximizing any defense and counter attack strategies against the attacker. Attire: Gi pants, board or MMA shorts and t-shirts/rash guards. (no tank tops allowed)

Rape Prevention for Women

These seminars are 100% hands on. The techniques are based on strategic grips, leverage and proper timing so that they can be applied by virtually any women, regardless of age or athletic ability.

Participants will learn about all 3 stages of a sexual assault: Being identified, being approached and subdued, and being exhausted while on the ground. We'll talk about heightening awareness, scanning your surroundings, keeping an alert posture which will limit the predator's chances of carrying on the assault.

Strategies and escapes to avoid getting physically controlled on your feet will follow. Simple strategic escapes will keep you from getting where no woman wants to be, away from public view and with their back on the ground.

If avoid getting on your back wasn't possible, the next step must be to convince yourself to remain calm and avoid panic response. This is usually when the suspect will wait for the victim to waste as much energy as possible trying to get out. This comotion will cause the victim to be mentally and physically exhausted, facilitating the assault. In this stage you'll also learn specific grips and escapes to separate yourself from the attacker and either stand back up and run, or even go on with a submission attack such as chokes or joint locks.

Attire: Gi pants, sweat or stretchy pants and t-shirts/rash guards, sport bras or tank tops.

There, you can neutralize and dominate even a bigger and stronger opponent. Once on the ground, we'll talk about positioning control, achieving dominant positions and setting up submissions.
